The release candidate of PoCL 7.2 is now available for testing of this Portable Computing Language implementation of OpenCL that allows for CPU-based execution or via alternative LLVM back-ends allows for OpenCL on Level Zero, NVIDIA GPUs, and even remote devices/hardware.
With PoCL 7.2-RC1 there is now official OpenCL 3.0 conformance achieved against the Khronos OpenCL Conformance Test Suite (CTS). PoCL is now validated OpenCL 3.0 conformant for CPU devices with both RISC-V and x86_64 processors.
The OpenCL conformant products list has PoCL with OpenCL 3.0 as tested for RISC-V on the Star64 RISC-V board and Milk-V Jupiter. The x86_64 conformance submission for PoCL was on an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X.
PoCL 7.2 is also bringing support for more OpenCL extensions including cl_khr_extended_bit_ops, cl_khr_device_uuid, cl_khr_suggested_local_work_size, cl_khr_integer_dot_product, cl_khr_kernel_clock, cl_khr_spirv_linkonce_odr, and cl_khr_spirv_no_integer_wrap_decoration.
PoCL 7.2-RC1 is also now compatible up through LLVM 22 for NVIDIA CUDA and Intel Level Zero devices or both LLVM 22 and LLVM 23 with the CPU back-end.
