MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. Prospects for developing a low-altitude economy in Russia, deploying unmanned transport, and exporting domestic technologies will be discussed at this year’s Eastern Economic Forum (EEF), the press service of the Roscongress Foundation reported.

"A meeting took place in Moscow between Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum, and Alexey Raikevich, Director General of GLONASS. The parties discussed joint efforts to accelerate high-technology exports, cooperation in implementing the President of the Russian Federation’s instructions on the introduction of unmanned transport to drive economic development, and efforts to strengthen Russia’s technological sovereignty," the report said.

The Eastern Economic Forum will serve as a launchpad for developing the low-altitude economy in Russia, one of the key technological priorities and tools of generating significant economic benefits through the introduction of autonomous transport by 2035, Kobyakov noted. "The project is being developed with reference to the best international practices and based on unique Russian technologies and digital solutions that have already been implemented in the country. On a single platform, we will bring together all participants in the unmanned transport market, along with leading international experts. This will help accelerate the transition from experimentation to the industrial-scale operation of unmanned transport, which is already being actively introduced in the Far East, is being prepared for nationwide expansion, and has significant export potential," he was quoted as saying.

The development of civil unmanned aviation and the introduction of autonomous transport across all modes of transport are among the key themes of this year’s business program of the forum, which will be discussed at a dedicated session entitled "From the Far East to Nationwide: Launching Russia’s Low-Altitude Economy". The meeting also addressed opportunities to export GLONASS products to the markets of BRICS, ASEAN, and African countries.

"Russia was the first country in the world to launch a nationwide emergency response system for transport - ERA-GLONASS - which today saves thousands of lives every year," Raikevich was quoted as saying.

"On the basis of this platform, and in accordance with instructions from the President of Russia, we are introducing a unified system for identifying unmanned transport, which is becoming the digital core of an economically efficient autonomous logistics ecosystem. Drawing on domestic navigation and communications technologies, we are developing and deploying unmanned equipment that is transforming sectors including agriculture and road construction. Such ready-to-use, integrated solutions are in high demand in the markets of friendly countries," he noted.

The Eastern Economic Forum will be held September 1-4 in Vladivostok on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. The main theme of this year’s EEF is "The Far East: Development for the Benefit of People." The event is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Russian government.
