MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. Advanced synthetic fabrics manufactured in Russia are used in the latest Russian Novator military gear set produced by the Kalashnikov Group, the arms manufacturer’s CEO Alan Lushnikov, board member of the Union of Russian Machine-Building Enterprises, said in an interview with TASS Director General Andrey Kondrashov.

"Science has advanced significantly, and now, for example, our underwear is made from modacrylic fiber. It’s a pure synthetic. There’s no longer any need to wear cotton. And these materials are available domestically. While 5-10 years ago they were entirely imported, the Russian textile industry is now achieving strong results - we’re moving forward <…> This is polyamide PA66. We’re already obtaining the fabrics and materials for our current VKPO 3.1 uniform set in Russia. So, of course, the fabrics for the Novator will also be Russian," said Lushnikov.

The Novator gear kit includes fleece underwear, a fleece jacket, a refined all-in-one demi-season suit, a wind-and water-resistant suit with improved membrane fabric, an insulated suit, headwear (hat, peaked cap), a scarf made of fire-resistant fabric, mid-season gloves, and insulated mittens.
