Ssshhhhh, don't mention YouFibre 8000 having been available for the last couple years.

It is fair to say that they are not a "major provider".

Seems a bit strange to launch the 8G product before their own branded router is ready though.

We're back into the bragging rights wars. This is all about making their biggest rivals look slow, even though it's got limited availability, doesn't seem available to existing customers and is effectively a beta product.

200 upload for 2gig and 800 upload for 8gig why couldn't they be symmetrical ffs

As I commented on the main article, they can brag when it's not capped 10:1 by Openreach.

Edit: Agh, beaten like a ginger stepchild by a split second, @TottenhamSomeFibre !

Yeah! I'd like EE 100mbps please

(I'm hoping FTTP should be able to order in the next few months but god knows, took them long enough)

Upload is still pathetic, really. I have access to YouFibre and virgin XGS-PON, but I decided to stick with EE 1.6GBps due to the fact I simply don’t trust the others, especially for support purposes if something goes wrong. I have EE sim-only service also, so no data or speed limits .
Until YouFibre and Virgin CS improve after-sales support, I will stick with EE. For eight years, I have been with BT+EE FTTP, and not once have I had to contact EE/BT for technical support due to an outrage.

Outrageous!

(sorry, not sorry)

Clearly, you don't. So, pointless for this comment.

I am very interested in seeing companies push XGS-PON products.

I suspect the faster upload speeds will be the most practical benefit of these new EE tiers. If you work with video or other large files then getting an upload speed greater than 115 Mb/s may well be of interest.

If you have an altnet available, a symmetrical service may be an option, but for many Openreach is the only choice.
