At USAFacts, we believe that making government data easy to access and understand is necessary for a thriving democracy and society. Increasingly, that means getting accurate and unbiased answers from AI. That’s why we welcome the White House’s call on Congress to “provide resources to make federal datasets accessible to industry and academia in AI-ready formats for use in training AI models and systems,” as part of its National Policy Framework for Artificial Intelligence released in March.

We have long worked with both sides of the aisle to make government data AI-ready. In 2024, under the prior administration, we partnered with the US Department of Commerce to provide guidelines and best practices for generative AI and open data. Today, we continue to advise government agencies looking to modernize their data systems so they can be accurately interpreted by AI tools.
