Authorities have recovered the body of a swimmer who went missing in the Mississippi River near Hidden Falls Regional Park in St. Paul.

Just before 5 p.m. on Saturday the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office’s water patrol unit was called to the 1300 block of Mississippi River Boulevard South after reports that a man had gone missing in the river, according to Steve Linders, sheriff’s office spokesman. The man was trying to swim across the river, according to reports.

The man’s body was recovered at about 12:15 p.m. Monday, he said.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner will work to identify the person. No further information was available Monday afternoon.
