Asparion have just announced an expansion of their D700 control surface range, introducing a new model that’s been designed specifically for professional live applications. Since being introduced a few years back, the line-up has become a popular choice across a range of audio, lighting and media applications, with users praising its modular design, premium build quality and flexible configuration options. The new arrival sticks to the tried and tested formula, but comes with dedicated brackets that allow it to be mounted in a standard 19-inch rack, making it an ideal choice for touring rigs, control rooms and permanent installations. 

The D700 Rack offers the full functionality of the standard D700 controller. There are 16 high-precision 100mm motorised faders with a resolution of up to 4000 steps, 17 RGB rotary encoders with 16 LED rings and no fewer than 76 programmable LED buttons — optional high-resolution OLED displays provide a clear, instant overview of parameters, channel names and level information. Like every component that makes up the D700 series, the Rack version features a robust laser-engraved aluminium enclosure that’s been engineered to withstand the demanding conditions of daily touring and live event production. At the same time, it remains fully compatible with all existing D700 components and can be expanded with the D700F and D700S to provide up to 64 motorised faders.

Configuration is handled by Asparion's dedicated software, allowing every control element to be customised for a wide variety of applications including audio software, lighting control, media control systems and all manner of custom control applications.
