The Toronto Film Festival on Wednesday unveiled its Short Cuts program, with highlights like Niki Lindroth von Bahr’s animated comedy The End, starring Noomi Rapace, Denis Lavant and Alexander Skarsgard, and the Stellan Skarsgard-starrer Please, from director Anna Mantzaris and also a stop motion animated short film.

There’s also world premieres for John Wick 4 actor Shamier Anderson’s directorial debut with the mockumentary Call Me Tim; Fala Chen’s Bloodline, produced by Colin Farrell; Camille Summers-Valli’s Untitled Woman, starring Julianne Nicholson and Charles Melton; Michael Del Monte’s Fight Kid, executive produced by Derek Cianfrance; and Oscar–nominated director Shaunak Sen’s Termite drama, starring Faisal Malik and Vipin Sharma.

Toronto’s Short Cuts program unveiled in all 45 films, including Forgotten Spaceman, by director Elham Ehsas; Elia Kalogianni’s Mammalia; Daniel Cheerubin’s short horror pic Koden’n; Nigerian-American filmmaker Kaelo Iyizoba’s The Spectacular Death of Prisca; Ophelia Harutyunyan’s sibling drama Fried Chicken & Strip Checkers; and The Day I Smoked a Cigarette with my Father, a 2D animated film co-directed by Sameh Alaa and Robin Vouters.

Canadian films in the TIFF program include veteran documentary maker Yung Chang’s fiction narrative debut, The Highway; the comedy Skinny Bottines from Romain F. Dubois; Canadian-Pakistani filmmaker Zarrar Khan’s rom-com The Lion Does Not Concern Himself; Logan Graham Greene’s The Episode; Christian Smith’s dark comedy Fivehead; Jess Barclay Lawton’s short documentary When the Ground Paused, about a young woman navigating the quiet chaos of early motherhood; Leftover Women, by Atalanta Swire; Juie Charette’s The Comet; and a world premiere for Between Late April and Early May, from Sophia Smith.

The Toronto Film Festival is set to run from Sept. 10 to 20.
