Police enquiries are ongoing into the incident
A man was arrested after being spotted with a "knife in his waistband" in Co Armagh yesterday morning.
Police attended the English Street area of Armagh on Wednesday morning, August 5, following reports of a man being spotted with a knife.
The suspect was stopped, with officers recovering a knife. A 28-year-old man was arrested before being detained by mental health authorities.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "On Wednesday morning, 5 August, police received a report that a man had been spotted with a knife in his waistband in the English Street area of Armagh.
"Responding officers stopped the suspect and recovered a knife.
"The 28 year old was taken into police custody before being detained for assessment by mental health authorities. Enquiries are ongoing."
