Two missing Dallas girls found safe, evaluated at hospital

Two girls, ages 5 and 13, were found safe Wednesday after Dallas Police issued a critical missing alert and launched an early-morning search involving officers, investigators and drones.
Police received the initial call at about 5 a.m. after the girls were last seen in the 1400 block of Belleview Street carrying pink, glittery backpacks.
After police shared information about the missing children, a good Samaritan recognized the 5-year-old and returned her safely to the Belleview Street location. A short time later, officers and detectives with the department’s Youth Operations/Missing Persons Unit found the 13-year-old in the 5900 block of Mountain Valley Lane.
