President Donald Trump on Wednesday appeared in Las Vegas, where he highlighted and defended his domestic and foreign policies, accused Democrats of trying to bring communism to the United States and took a moment to honor a local police officer killed in a shootout the previous day.

Trump speech at a packed Red Rock Resort ballroom was themed around his Working Families Tax Cuts from the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act. He again credited a Strip waitress for coming up with his no tax on tips proposal implemented through the bill.

In remarks that lasted just over an hour, Trump touched on talking points on a variety of topics, including Tuesday’s primary elections in Michigan, Virginia, Missouri and Washington state.

A slate of Republican Nevada candidates, including Gov. Joe Lombardo, took the stage before UFC President Dana White introduced Trump.

“I’m thrilled to be back in the great state of Nevada,” Trump said amid a roaring crowd. “Before we begin, I want to send our love to Austin Abdelnabi.”

The 30-year-old Metropolitan Police Department officer was killed in a police shooting with man authorities hadn’t identified Wednesday.

Trump said the Marines Corps. veteran had been gunned down by a “savage criminal.”

Abdelnabi died a hero, he added. “God bless the men and women of (Metro).”

Trump spoke for just over an hour.

Lombardo and congressional hopefuls, Nev. State Sen. Carrie Buck and award-winning composer Marty O’Donnell thanked Trump for his visit and attacked their Democratic opponents: Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford and Reps. Dina Titus and Susie Lee.

They, along with Trump, stressed the importance of voting for Republicans in November.
