To commemorate America’s 250th birthday, Wilson Library is hosting a new exhibition through Dec. 4.
“Witnesses to the Revolution: North Carolina and the War for Independence” explores how the American Revolution swept through North Carolina, splitting communities that had to decide whether they wanted American independence or to remain under British rule. Visitors will get a firsthand look at the state’s role in the Revolutionary War and its lasting impact.
Thanks to a collaboration between the University Library and the North Carolina Museum of History, the exhibit features well-preserved Revolutionary-era objects that serve as tangible witnesses to the historic struggle.
