The Most Valuable Murcielago Ever Is Brown, Manual, And Banned From America Until 2035

Believed to be one of five manual SVs, this brown Lamborghini is heading to auction but is off-limits to US buyers

Brown isn’t a shade anyone reaches for on a multi-million-dollar supercar, yet the unusual finish on this 2010 Lamborghini Murcielago LP 670-4 SV probably won’t keep it from becoming the priciest one ever sold. That says something about how the market values the car underneath the paint.

Lamborghini famously introduced the limited-run Murcielago SV as the final swansong for its iconic V12-powered supercar, lifting power from the 6.5-liter engine, cutting weight, and making several visual and aerodynamic upgrades. It was also the final road-legal production car that Lamborghini offered with a six-speed manual transmission.

One of Five, Possibly The Final One

Later this month, the sole Murcielago SV painted in Ad Personam Marrone Eklipsis and fitted with a stick shift changes hands. This car is believed to be one of just five that left the factory with the manual, and it’s thought to have been the last one assembled. That could make it the final V12 manual Lamborghini ever produced, which pushes its desirability and value through the roof.

It’s not just the paint and the manual that make this Murcielago special. Contrasting the exterior color are gold-painted wheels, and the interior is configured unlike any other SV. The dashboard, carpets, steering wheel, and door panels are finished in Marrone Janus leather and Alcantara, contrasted with the LP640’s comfort seats clad in Ad Personam Avorio Lilium with Grigio Phoenix stitching.

Tiny Wing, Big Speed

There’s something else that differentiates this SV from most others. Rather than rocking a towering carbon fiber rear wing, it was instead one of just a handful built with the smaller lip spoiler, giving it a slightly more restrained look and also increasing the top speed from 209 mph (336 km/h) to 212 mph (341 km/h).

There’s a catch. RM Sotheby’s points out that this Murcielago SV was built to European specification, and as such, it can’t be legally imported into the United States before 2035, when the car turns 25 and clears the federal import rule.
