On the island’s northern peninsula, Yas Point will feature a 700 metre promenade, the first beach on the north side of the island, plus homes for 5,000 residents

Aldar, the developer of some of Abu Dhabi’s biggest developments, has just unveiled a brand new destination: Yas Point. Valued at a huge Dhs6 billion, the 600,000 square metre destination is spread over a waterfront plot on the island’s northern peninsula, on one of the last remaining plots on the action-packed Yas Island.

At the new development, there’s lots to look forward to. Yas Point will be home to around 1,600 branded residences, a five-star resort hotel, an international school, and a buzzing mix of retail and dining, all designed to house an estimated 5,000 residents. Anchoring it all is the first beach on Yas Island’s northside, fronted by a sweeping 700-metre promenade lined with beachside cafés and boutiques. Three signature parks, including the 60,000 sqm Lea Park, will be threaded together by walking and cycling routes, giving the whole destination a green, breezy, resort-town feel.

Yas Point is being positioned within easy reach of two of the biggest names about to land on Yas Island: Disneyland Abu Dhabi and Sphere Abu Dhabi. Disney’s first Middle East theme park resort, developed by Miral in partnership with Walt Disney Imagineering, was confirmed for Yas Island’s northern stretch earlier this year and is expected to open sometime between 2030 and 2033. Meanwhile, Sphere Abu Dhabi, a US$1.7 billion, 20,000-capacity immersive entertainment venue and only the second Sphere on the planet after Las Vegas, is rising on a plot near Yas Mall, with completion targeted for late 2029.

Addressing the announcement, Aldar has said the destination “will continue to evolve through future residential, hospitality and lifestyle offerings,” cementing its role as Yas Island’s next defining address.
