Love Island star Jasmine Muller has addressed the rumours the internet 'went wild over'
This year's runner-up of Love Island has responded to claims that they 'snubbed' one of the winners during the live final.
It's now been a week since ITV aired the last episode of the 13th season direct from the villa, hosted by Maya Jama. Julia and Lorenzo came out victorious from the public vote with Jasmine and Kavan named runners-up.
Fans have been just as hooked on the aftermath following the series as the show itself. With many Islanders making statements on social media and sharing more behind-the-scenes details during interviews.
It includes reveals and details of what really happened inside the villa. Now, Jasmine and Kavan have made an appearance on the Newly Parents podcast hosted by Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo.
During the interview, Jasmine is asked about tensions in the villa and the perceived rift between some Islanders. Jasmine revealed: "We, as the girls were so close, it was genuinely a sisterhood. To the point where I think the tension was always boys vs girls. It wasn't even about couple stuff because we were so close."
However, she admitted that the dynamics within the villa did shift after Casa Amor. This is unsurprising considering a number of the boys, including Kavan brought back new faces.
Although Jasmine said: "It wasn't necessarily that I think there was a divide, you could just feel that there was more of an allegiance or alliance on different sides for different reasons. And I think Julia is a massive character. She's such a confident, strong woman, says how she feels, very opinionated. Sometimes I would see traces of myself in her and that's iconic of you.
"But I think where we would struggle as a girl group was I think the emotional reading, like intelligence part of it. If someone was feeling something, you kind of just stop. You'd take a breather."
Jasmine went on to say she believed the 'hard part' with Julia was that she would apparently not recognise when someone was being hurt in a conversation. She added that would make things 'sour' but they and Julia would spend so much time together off camera that fans didn't see ahead of the final.
She continued: "There's no beef at all. It's so minor. We've all lived this experience together."
Jamie praised her response but also called attention to the internet's 'wild' response after it appeared that Jasmine did not hug Julia the moment she was declared as winner with Lorenzo.
Jasmine exclaimed: "I've heard this!" Kavan was confused and asked: "Who didn't hug?" to which Jasmine replied: "Apparently I didn't hug Julia."
Before she continued: "I don't remember doing that. I think Maya grabbed me because she had to ask me something quickly, maybe she grabbed me?"
Love Island is streaming on ITVX.
