Akshay Kumar has opened up about his son Aarav Bhatia's decision to stay away from Bollywood despite belonging to one of the industry's most successful families. The actor spoke about Aarav's independent lifestyle, his career ambitions and why he is proud of the path his son has chosen. Akshay also shared the simple parenting philosophy he follows and revealed the one life lesson he has always wanted Aarav to remember, offering a rare glimpse into their relationship beyond the spotlight.

Despite being one of Bollywood's biggest stars with an estimated net worth of around Rs 2,700 crore, Akshay Kumar says he has never pushed his son Aarav Bhatia towards an easy life or a career in films. Instead, Aarav has chosen to stay away from the glamour of Bollywood, work a modest job that pays around Rs 4,500, and learn fashion from the ground level. Speaking in a recent interview with journalist Shubhankar Mishra, Akshay shared why he is proud of his son's decisions and also revealed the one life lesson he has always given him.

During the conversation, Akshay made it clear that acting has never been Aarav's career goal. According to the actor, his son wants to build a future in fashion rather than enter the Hindi film industry.

Talking about their similarities, Akshay said, "We are both very alike. He is into health, and so am I. He is a tall boy and very focused. He loves working. But he doesn't want to join films. He doesn't have any such plan. He wants to be in fashion."

The actor said Aarav has decided to create his own identity instead of relying on his family's name in the entertainment business.

Akshay also revealed that Aarav has already started working and is learning the basics instead of looking for shortcuts. The actor said his son is earning around Rs 4,500 through a job while studying fashion.

Sharing details, Akshay said, "Voh bechara aaj bhi Rs 4500 ki naukri kar raha hai. Acchi baat hai, kyun nahi? (He's still working a Rs 4500 job even today. It's a good thing, why not?) He is going to villages and learning fashion from there, different kinds of prints and everything."

According to Akshay, Aarav has been travelling to villages to understand traditional textiles, local craftsmanship and different styles of prints. Rather than depending on classroom learning alone, he wants practical experience of the industry.

When asked about his parenting style, Akshay said he is not someone who gives long lectures. Instead, he believes children should learn by making their own choices.

The actor said, "I don't give lectures - not to anyone, especially not to my son. Just one thing: don't harm anybody. Don't hurt anyone. That's it. The rest, he should handle his own life."

For Akshay, treating people well is the only rule he insists on, while the rest of life's decisions are left to Aarav.

Born in 2002, Aarav Bhatia is the elder child of Akshay Kumar and author Twinkle Khanna. He moved to London when he was around 15 to continue his education and has largely stayed away from public attention ever since.

Reports suggest Aarav manages his own daily routine, including cooking and household work, while pursuing fashion design. He is also known to prefer a simple lifestyle, often choosing thrift shopping over luxury spending. Apart from fashion, he has trained in martial arts, earning a black belt in Kudo and a gold medal in judo.

On the professional front, Akshay Kumar was recently seen in Welcome to the Jungle and before that in Bhoot Bangla. The actor is also reportedly set to reunite with filmmaker Neeraj Pandey after more than a decade for a special appearance in the upcoming biopic on legendary composer R.D. Burman, headlined by Farhan Akhtar. Director Ahmed Khan has also confirmed another collaboration with Akshay after Welcome to the Jungle, continuing their association.
