Surprisingly good value...

Okay, we get it - SSD and memory prices have gone through the roof, but somehow there are still pockets of 'deals' to be had during this tumultuous time for PC components. For instance, this 6TB (!) Crucial X10 portable SSD is down to £370 from Amazon during the retailer's Spring Sale. It's a small discount from its apparent £400 RRP, and is the best price it's been since the very start of 2026, working out to £61.66 per TB - in today's market, that's not bad.

The X10 is one of the brisker portable SSDs out there, being rated for speeds up to 2100MB/s. That means very speedy access to data and potent reads and writes for storing things such as a portable games library, a lot of locally stored media for video editing, or just as a bulk drive for whatever you want to. I've been using a 2TB one of these for the last year, and have always been impressed with its speedy nature.

The big thing with this one is the 6TB capacity, which makes it one of the heftier portable SSDs you can buy. I've always maintained that having some form of bulk SSD storage is very handy, although I am a bit of a hoarder with that in mind. It's also remarkably the value sweet spot for this SSD at the moment, with the 8TB one commanding an extra £200 for another 2TB of space, and the 4TB model only being £70 cheaper.

Crucial also rates this drive to have a tough IP65 dust and water resistance protection, making it more rugged than you'd think. The X10 is also drop resistant from up to three metres if you do happen to knock it over. Connectivity is purely with a bundled USB-C connector, and allows for vast compatibility with Mac, PC and mobile devices. You can also get away with using it with a modern games console, although more as 'cold' storage for games.

If you've been wanting a capacious Crucial SSD for your bulk storage needs, this 6TB X10 in the Amazon Spring Sale is surprisingly good value.
