Japan and former England head coach Eddie Jones plans on heaping more misery on Wales by extending the 'burden' of their current 10-game winless home run.

Wales haven't tasted victory at Cardiff's Principality Stadium – so often a fortress for them over the years – since beating England in a warm-up match for the 2023 World Cup.

New head coach Steve Tandy and his players must beat Jones' Brave Blossoms to remain in the top 12 of World Rugby's rankings and ensure an easier draw for the 2027 global showpiece.

Jones, however, has other ideas this weekend.

'The pressure of not winning for two years at home will be felt by Wales,' said Jones, who is in his second spell in charge of Japan.

'Sometimes that can be an advantage and sometimes a burden. It's our job to make sure it's a burden.'

Wales do have Louis Rees-Zammit back in their starting XV for what is a must-win game

WALES TEAM NEWS

Wales: Murray; Rees-Zammit, Llewellyn, B Thomas, Adams; Edwards, T Williams; Smith, Lake (capt), Griffin, D Jenkins, Beard, Wainwright, Mann, Cracknell.

Replacements: Belcher, Carre, Assiratti, F Thomas, Plumtree, Hardy, J Evans, Tompkins

Kick-off: 5.40pm Saturday. Principality Stadium. TV: TNT Sports

Wales ended a horror run of 18 straight international defeats by beating Jones' men in the summer.

The two sides shared the Test series in the Far East 1-1.

Tandy's first game in charge saw his team ship seven tries and 52 points to Argentina.

Not only that, they also lost influential captain Jac Morgan to a dislocated shoulder.

Morgan will miss the rest of the autumn as a result.

Hooker Dewi Lake takes over the captaincy for Japan.

With Morgan absent, much of Wales' hopes will rest on electric wing Louis Rees-Zammit who is back in the starting line-up for the first time since 2023.

Rees-Zammit has spent the majority of the last two years pursuing an NFL career in America, but returned to rugby at the start of the 2025/26 season.

Even without Morgan, Wales really should win.
