Patrick Dempsey was all smiles as he stepped out with glamorous wife Jillian Fink at the Ferrari premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday. 

The actor, 59, who was recently named People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive, cut a very dapper figure in a smart black suit. 

Patrick, who stars in the new sports drama, wore a black and white striped shirt with the suit and a neat black tie. 

The former Grey's Anatomy star seemed in high spirits as he linked arms with his stunning wife while posing for photos on the red carpet held at the Director's Guild of America.

The makeup artist, 57, turned heads in a glittering gold cowl neck gown which showcased her incredible figure. 

She styled her long blonde tresses in beach waves and applied a radiant palette of makeup including a bold smoky eye shadow. 

The couple, who have been married since 1999, were also joined on the red carpet by their three children Talula, 21, and twins Darby and Sullivan, 16.

Entitled simply Ferrari, the movie is written and directed by Michael Mann, whose work includes such films as The Last Of The Mohicans, Heat and Public Enemies.

Adam Driver is leading a starry cast that includes Penelope as Enzo's wife Laura, to whom he was infamously unfaithful throughout his life.

Shailene is featuring as Enzo's longtime mistress Lina Lardi, the mother of his son Piero, who is now vice chairman of Ferrari.

The logline for the movie reads: 'A biopic of automotive mogul Enzo Ferrari, whose family redefined the idea of the high-powered Italian sports car and practically spawned the concept of Formula One racing.'

Also starring in the film is Patrick Dempsey as fellow racecar driver Piero Taruffi, Jack O’Connell as racer Peter Collins, Sarah Gadon as Linda Christian and Gabriel Leone as driver Alfonso de Portago.

Alfonso’s Ferrari racecar blew a tyre which led to him and nine people in the stands dying after the vehicle crashed.

Enzo along with the tyre manufacturer were charged with manslaughter. The case was dismissed, however.

It comes after Patrick was named as People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive this year, making him the second oldest celebrity to ever earn the title.

Patrick admitted he was shocked to receive the honour and told how he is 'always the bridesmaid' as he spoke about finally achieving the accolade.

'I've always been the bridesmaid! I'd completely forgotten about it and never even contemplated being in this position. So my ego is good,' he said.

He is the oldest star to earn the title since Sean Connery was named People's Sexiest Man Alive more than 30 years ago in 1989 when he was 59 years old.

Patrick had early success as an actor in the 1980s, where he starred in an array of rom-coms including 1987's Can't Buy Me Love and 1989's Loverboy.

After a whole string of smaller TV and film roles throughout the 1990s, he starred in 2002's rom-com Sweet Home Alabama.

He appeared in the film alongside huge Hollywood names including Reese Witherspoon, Josh Lucas, Dakota Fanning and Candice Bergen.

As he reached global fame during the 2000s due to his big film roles and TV appearance on Grey's Anatomy, Patrick continued finding success with rom-coms.

He appeared in Made of Honor in 2008, then appeared among the very star-studded cast of Valentine's Day in 2010 and also starred in 2016's Bridget Jones's Baby.

Despite his movie success, Patrick is arguably best known for his role as heartthrob neurosurgeon Derek 'McDreamy' Shepherd in Grey's Anatomy.
