The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a new feature in the official Aadhaar mobile app that allows residents to add or update their email address directly from their smartphones. The move eliminates the need to visit an Aadhaar enrolment centre for email address updates and is aimed at improving convenience and digital accessibility.
The new service became available from 1st July 2026 and will remain free for a limited period of 6 months on both Android and iOS devices.
