Conor McGregor has teased a trilogy fight with Max Holloway for International Fight Week in 2027.
The former two-division UFC champion ended a five year hiatus when he took on Holloway for a second time in Las Vegas. But his return ended in shocking circumstances after the Irishman suffered a nasty knee injury just seconds into the opening round - with the bout being waved off after 69 seconds.
McGregor later revealed he tore his ACL in the rematch, and faces a year out of the cage, but has vowed to return to the cage. This past weekend, UFC supremo Dana White said he expected McGregor to be out of action for at least a year, and that timeline seems to be perfect for the 38-year-old as he plans to fulfil his current contract with the UFC.
In a recent video uploaded to Instagram, the Dublin scrapper posted footage of himself warming up ahead of UFC 329, with the caption: “What was to be a generational beating is now to be reset. IFW 2027. The Last Dance.” While an official date for International Fight Week 2027 is yet to be confirmed, it is likely it will take place next July.

In a separate post, he wrote: "The amount of work I put in, without getting even a semblance of a fight back, is really disheartening. But is it? That work is still there. Now, I am being called upon for more work. More discipline. More growth. What is my problem then? None. I don't have one. Thank you, God."
McGregor once again confirmed his return next year after posting footage of his walkout at UFC 329. "The white orange and green machine. Moseying on back to the office, up the office! Sorry I'm late, but the dry ice has the cage floor wet. It's a no contest, now chop chop for the champ champ. I'll see ya's next year 100 per cent."
In a recent social media post, McGregor provided an update on his knee while stating the result of his rematch with Holloway should be changed to a No Contest. "1. I will have the results of the scan on my leg tomorrow. 2. The fight should be a no contest and all bets returned," he wrote.
He previously wrote: "Surgery. Prehab. Return to martial arts practice. Go again. Final fight of the contract. Please God! My faith is unconditional and I am thankful I get to prove it! My lifestyle changes are permanent and not just until. I am thankful I get to prove it.
"I am in Sin City and remain completely devoid of all sin. I will not open that door nor crack its seal! I am already back to collecting wins! In Jesus name I pray! Church was intense today, my heart is heavy but through Christ my mind is STRONG! I am so grateful to see my family fall more in love with God each day!
