President Donald Trump was in Michigan on Monday where he made the first presidential visit GM’s Milford Proving Ground. While there, he held a rally inside the design facility, watched “America First” drag races featuring Corvettes, Cadillacs, and a Hummer EV, and during a stroll through a GM product display he even signed an Arctic White Stars & Steel Corvette Stingray Convertible.

Trump made the visit to Michigan to discuss his handling of the economy. During a tour showing both classic and current vehicles from GM, he was joined by GM CEO Mary Barra, GM President Mark Reuss, and Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy.

A video from one of his aides was posted to X.com that shows him signing the hood of a limited-edition Corvette Stingray that was created to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary. The President remarked, “They’ve come a long way,” he said to reporters during the tour.

During his speech to autoworkers at the GM Proving Ground, the stage was flanked with a 2027 Corvette Grand Sport in its historic Admiral Blue Livery with a White Strip and Red Hash Marks, and a Corvette ZR1X with the Half-an-Half livery of Admiral Blue, Arctic White and a special version of the Stars & Steel graphics package. The door graphic on this car showcases the Freedom 250 Grand Prix that will be run on the streets of Washington D.C. next month.
