Farmer Pirmin Adler has received multiple awards for his efforts in climate protection and adaptation. At his farm, Adlerzart, he is attempting to convert to agroforestry across the board and improve animal welfare with hedges and other measures. He talks about this and more in our series "Voices on climate".
Pirmin Adler farms 22 hectares of agricultural land in Oberrüti, Aargau. Here he keeps suckler cows and free-range poultry. He also practises agroforestry and extensive direct marketing. He recently won both the audience and jury prizes at the Swiss Climate & Agriculture Network's "Prix Climat".
In an interview with Pirmin Adler, we discuss his perspective on climate change and the reasons why everyone is talking about it but almost no one is doing anything about it. Pirmin Adler explains why he wants to manage his entire farm using agroforestry and what he hopes to achieve. He also hopes that his measures will convince some of his colleagues.
