Andrew Garfield had a unique accessory at a screening of his latest film on Thursday evening. 

With Florence Pugh notably absent, the Spiderman star, 41, brought a lifesize cutout of his co-star to the We Live In Time screening at the BFI London Film Festival.

Andrew looked dapper in a blue suit with flared trousers, a pink and blue striped shirt and a long, thin patterned neck scarf.

He finished off his look with a pair of black loafers and flashed a cheeky smile as he posed for the cameras. 

The star was in good spirits as he joked and played around on the red carpet, moving the cardboard cut out and striking silly poses. 

At one point, The Hackshaw Ridge star placed the carboard version of Florence on the carpet and gestured towards her in an exaggerated pose.

He then stood next to her and threw his arm over the cutout's shoulders as he smiled at his co-star's stand in. 

He also shot the cameras some more serious looks, holding on to the carboard figure's waist before quickly stepping in to prop it back up before it fell over. 

As Andrew walked into the venue, he tucked the life-size version of Florence under  his arm and made a dash into the cinema, striking  a faux furtive pose and playing up for the crowds.

The hilarious stunt comes after the pair revealed they went 'further than they were meant to' while filming sex scene.

Speaking ahead of its release on October 11, Andrew told of how the pair got a little carried away during a 'very intimate, passionate sex scene' because they didn't hear a call of 'cut' from the crew.

During an appearance on the 92nd Street Y in New York City, he told the crowd: 'The scene becomes passionate, as we choreographed it.

'And we get into it as it were, and we go a little bit further than we were meant to because we didn’t hear "cut" and it’s feeling safe. And we’re just kinda like, "Ok, we’ll just go into the next thing, we’ll let this progress, and we’ll just carry on."'

Andrew added that he and Florence continued performing the intimate sequence for such a long time that it forced the camera operator to turn away.

He explained: 'At a certain point, both of us, we’re both kind of telepathically saying to each other, "This definitely feels like a longer take."

'I look up, and in the corner is Stuart and our boom operator. Stuart has the camera by his side and he’s turned into the wall.'

We Live In Time follows the 'unconventional' love story of a recent divorcée and an on-the-rise chef.

The first trailer sees Almut (Florence) and Tobias (Andrew) brought together in a surprise meeting that changes their lives forever.

The trailer sees Almut and Tobias first cross paths in a hospital room.

Bruised and looking worse-for-wear with a brace around his neck, Tobias asks Almut, 'So sorry, but do we know each other?'

'Yeah, no,' she replies, before admitting that she is the reason he's injured because she's accidentally hit him with her car.

The pair eventually fall in love and have a daughter together, leading a blissful life up until the point when Almut receives an ominous diagnosis.
