A former women's UFC champion has broken her silence after she was threatened to be 'knocked out' by a male UFC fighter.

On Monday, shocking backstage footage emerged which showed heavyweight UFC star Jamahal Hill in a heated conversation with ex-UFC star Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

According to reports, the interaction occurred in a VIP lounge during the UFC 323 event which took place over the weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

In the footage, Hill could be heard threatening Jedrzejczyk over an alleged dispute about the heavyweight star's girlfriend. 

In the video, Hill could be heard saying: 'I'll knock you the f*** out. If you touch my girl I'm going to knock you the f*** out.'

UFC Hall of Famer Jedrzejczyk could be heard responding: 'Yeah, you will?' as tensions boiled over backstage. 

Confusion over the feud remained rife on social media, before Jedrzejczyk released her own statement on Instagram on Tuesday - but refused to name Hill explicitly. 

She said: 'I worked so hard to earn my reputation, and I am embarrassed to be in this situation. But when somebody uses my name, falsely, without any basis in truth, I will always stand up for myself, and for that I do not deserve to be threatened.

'I am mindful that I am a strong, capable woman who has the benefit of a lifetime of self-defense training. I have a platform, and resources, that most women don't have. 

'So I empathize with the women who are disrespected and threatened, and lack the power and means to stand up for themselves. And to stand up for the truth. 

'I expect more from each of us as individuals and as a society, and I certainly expect more from athletes in our sport—especially former champions.

'I want to thank the UFC security and staff for their professionalism. I consider this matter closed, and wish everyone a happy and healthy holiday season!' 

While many presumed that the disagreement involved Hill's girlfriend, hours after Jedrzejczyk's statement, the heavyweight star issued his own comments. 

'I'm gonna tell y'all what happened. How about this?' Hill said. 'My girl wasn't even there. My girl was not at UFC 323. I brought my younger brother.

'We go upstairs to the VIP lounge… Joanna was there. I greet everybody. I go up to Joanna. I say, 'Hey, what's up champ? How you doing?'

'She's like, 'Oh, hey, yeah, what's up? Where's your girl? Oh, your girl's not here. Where's your girl?' I'm like, 'No.' If there was one thing that I wish about this whole incident, I wish that I had a GoPro so that I didn't have to say anything.

'I didn't have to speak or anything. I could just press play, and people could see the complete insane s*** that went down from this lady.'

Hill claimed that the conversation turned extremely heated and quickly became violent, before he could discern why Jedrzejczyk was so upset over the matter.

'Now she's threatened me, she's threatened my girl,' Hill said. 'I have not threatened her. I have not raised my voice at her. All I've asked her is, 'What is the issue? What's going on?'' 

'You're coming at me crazy and all these things, so now I don't give a f*** about why you're mad. I don't care. Whatever reason why you're mad, I don't care. It is what it is, and you sound f***ing r******d.

'I'm not trying to hear this s***,' Hill said. 'She's walked up in my face now also. She's also now approached me up in my face like she's going to do something to me. My girl wasn't there. She was being aggressive towards me. 

'I'm like, 'Yo, if you would've touched my girl, I would've knocked you the f*** out. And if you touch my girl, I'm going to knock you the f*** out.' She's threatening to assault my girl. 

'This goes for anybody, I don't care who you are: If you come up to me and pose a threat to me or any of my loved ones, you will be dealt with as a threat – period.' 

Hill remains an active UFC star and last appeared inside the octagon back in June, when he suffered a unanimous decision defeat to Khalil Rountree. 

In April 2024, he faced UFC superstar Alex Pereira at UFC 300, where he suffered a brutal knockout inside the first round. 

Jedrzejczyk, meanwhile, is regarded as one of the greatest female UFC fighters, after holding the women's strawweight title and defending it on five occasions.

She retired from the sport back in June 2022.
