Israelis who are locked into the narrative of 'the whole world is against us' felt a little less isolated after Boy George's new track. But the song also allows for a deeper look at the cultural battlefield, and begs the question: Should every celebrity opine about Israel and the Palestinians?

I like art with a political message, and I came of age musically in the 1980s. Many a weekday after school found me placing the needle on a '45 of Karma Chameleon, lying on the floor listening fanatically, then replacing the needle to start again once it was over. I got hyper just hearing the opening bounce.
