Although Fox’s Baywatch reboot is one of the most anticipated shows of the upcoming TV season, Pamela Anderson won’t be taking another dip as C.J. Parker.

Anderson, 59, said she wasn’t asked to be a part of the show, but adds in a new interview with Deadline that she wants “to make really bold choices” in her acting career.

“No one’s reached out to me. I don’t know much about it. I know that they were talking to my sons at some point about producing, but I don’t think they had a meeting of the minds. I’m not sure what happened there, but I wish them well. It was a great job, and I loved going to work every day on the beach. I would have been there anyway,” she says.

“At the time, it taught me a lot, and it gave me worldwide exposure. Everything I’ve done has led me to here, which is a blessing. But I have no plans of going back to Baywatch.”

If her boys, Brandon and Dylan Lee, had been involved, Anderson might have entertained the idea of returning to the beach, but as it stands she wants to see “what else is out there.”

“I get that there’s a lot of really great TV out there right now, but I’ve already done that. Now is my time to really play with different characters. I don’t want to just fill my time until the end of the year,” she says. “I have options, and some things I’m thinking about, including some theatre again. I want to make really bold choices. I want to surprise people. I want to surprise myself. And so I’m trying to do things I haven’t done in the past.”

Anderson earned raves for the role of a veteran Las Vegas dancer in 2024’s The Last Showgirl. She also starred opposite Liam Neeson in last summer’s Naked Gun sequel.

“It’s taking some getting used to,” she told Postmedia about her career resurgence. “I’ve never been happier, but I feel like I’m under no pressure because I’m a little bit of a wild card.”

Filming is currently underway on the series, which casts Stephen Amell (Arrow, Suits LA) as Hobie Buchannon, the grown-up son of David Hasselhoff’s Mitch Buchannon.

In addition to Amell, the retooled Baywatch also stars Brooks Nader, Jessica Belkin, Shay Mitchell, Livvy Dunne, Hassie Harrison, Thaddeus LaGrone and Noah Beck.

Original stars David Chokachi, Michael Bergin, Erika Eleniak and Kelly Packard are also returning for the series.

As he leads a new generation of lifeguards, Hobie’s life is turned upside down when Charlie (Belkin), the daughter he never knew, shows up on his doorstep.

Amell called training for the new series the most intense regimen he’s ever undergone.

“No matter how hard I work, we are going to cast someone in their early 20s on this show and they’ll be able to roll out of bed with an eight-pack and there’s not a thing I can do about it,” he joked to The Hollywood Reporter.
