Redding downed tree on wires closes Sport Hill Road Thursday, police say

Police did not say when the road was expected to reopen.

REDDING — Police have closed part of a local road on Thursday morning due to a downed tree that brought down power lines in the roadway. 

Police said there was no estimated time the roadway was expected to be reopened, and Eversource had been notified of the incident. 

Eversource, the state's largest utility, reported only 19 outages in Redding around the same time. It was immediately unclear if the outages were related to the downed wires.
