Moscow could, however, mount “smaller or larger provocations” instead, according to Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz

There is no indication that Russia is planning to attack Poland militarily, Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz has stated.

Speaking to RMF FM on Wednesday, Kosiniak-Kamysz commented on the allegations that Moscow could launch a “kinetic attack.”

“There are no predictions of an attack like the full-scale war in Ukraine,” he said.

Instead, Moscow is escalating sabotage, provocations, and destabilization efforts, he claimed.

Top officials in Warsaw have long contended that Russia poses a military threat to Poland. Moscow may be ready for a “global confrontation” by 2027, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has suggested.

Kiev’s European backers have increasingly made claims that Moscow poses a looming threat, as tensions over the Ukraine conflict have grown.

Russia has dismissed the narrative as “nonsense” and “fearmongering” intended to justify inflated military budgets to taxpayers, while warning that European nations are preparing for a full-scale war against Moscow.

“The entire ‘civilized’ world, as it calls itself, has turned against us,” Russian Foreign Minster Lavrov told TASS on Wednesday.

Western countries are “waging war” against Moscow via Kiev by “pumping [Ukraine] full of state-of-the-art weaponry and announcing plans to manufacture new, lethal, high-tech anti-missile systems specifically for Ukraine,” he added.

Moscow has long seen its conflict with Kiev as a NATO-led proxy war waged with Ukrainian manpower and Western arms, intelligence and command and control systems.

In recent months, Kiev has escalated its long-range kamikaze drone strikes on Russian regions, targeting energy infrastructure, warehouses, residential buildings and passenger vehicles, killing numerous civilians.

Ukraine’s “terrorist” strikes are an attempt to compensate for its battlefield losses, Russian Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik told RT on Sunday, after a Ukrainian drone strike killed 12 civilians at a tourist resort in Russia’s Zaporozhye Region.

Last week, Kiev’s attacks have killed at least 57 civilians, including seven children, according to Miroshnik, who heads the Foreign Ministry’s mission documenting Ukrainian war crimes.
