Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls' pre-launch open beta has just wrapped up, having been open over the weekend. Sadly, those who've given the fighter a go on PC over the past few days have run into a litany of issues, leaving developers Arc System Works apologising for the inconvenience and scrambling to provide fixes.

After it faced PlayStation Network issues right out of the gate, the beta's PC problems were first acknowledged by Arc System Works on social media early Saturday morning UK time.

"We’re aware of the gameplay and performance issues currently affecting the PC version of MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls," they wrote. "Our team is actively investigating these issues and working on a fix. We’ll share an update as soon as we have more information. Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we sincerely apologise for the impact this has had on your experience." This was shortly followed by a six-part thread in which the studio outlined "several community-suggested troubleshooting steps that may help improve performance". Though, Arc System Works did insist these were "not officially confirmed fixes", that "results may vary depending on your PC configuration", and that "they also should not be considered confirmation of the underlying cause of the reported issues".

The list of stuff to consider trying included running the shader warm-up at launch, checking your display and Nvidia settings, seeing if disabling or tweaking any game recording/capture software helps, and verifying game files to specifically try and get around an anti-cheat error on Steam.

If you've run into issues and fancy leaving feedback, Arc System Works have put up a survey for it upon drawing the beta's curtains closed. The hope is that, by having folks run into these issues now, the studio will be better equipped to sort them out or at least mitigate them ahead of Marvel Tokon's full release on August 6th. Though, that date's certainly not a million miles away.

It'll be interesting to see if the lengthy list of countries the game isn't set to not be available for purchase in, most likely due to its PlayStation Network account requirements, is thinned down any further ahead of that full release.
